Srinagar June 8 (KNO) : Emphasizing the Govt to release the salaries of SSA Teachers on the auspicious occasion of Eid Ul Fitr, very immediately, besides providing them the benefits of 7th Pay Commission, Congress today described the demands of teachers as quite genuine, emphasized the Govt to take effective measures to address the grievances, on war footing basis.

In a Statement issued to Press, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G.A. Mir today lashed out at the State Govt over victimizing SSA Teachers, who have been appointed on the pattern of RET Scheme and after completing the period of temporary five years service, they were regularized. He said this is highly condemnable and unfortunate that their monthly salaries were being delayed from time to time, causing agony and anguish to the teachers and their families.

Pertinently SSA Teachers has sought the intervention of G.A.Mir into the redressal of their grievances, they also submitted a memorandum appealing that they (SSA Teachers) must get the benefits of 7th Pay Commission, which is being denied to them for the reasons known to the Govt. Denying 7th Pay Commission benefits to SSA Techers would be a great injustice on the part of State Govt, G.A. Mir said, emphasizing the Govt to take effective measure to sort out the problems confronting these teachers, urging the Govt to be responsive to their genuine demands.

Asking the Govt stop victimizing the Teachers, as that, they deserve the same facilities & treatment as other employees of the State enjoy G.A. Mir added and said Govt to release their salaries in view of the auspicious occasion of EID Fitr ensuring that their families too participate in Eid celebrations.
